We all were new, at one time, and we remember what it's like. So we've provided the information below, knowing that it's easier to venture into a new place when you know what to expect.
Bethany began as a small group of people meeting in one of their homes. We were chartered as a United Methodist Church in 1966.
Our mission is to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with the world and express His love through word and action.
We average 140 in worship on Sunday mornings. So you could call us a small church. But don’t let those stereotypes about small churches fool you. Bethany is a vibrant church with passionate worship and a vision for the future. Bethany is a friendly, welcoming church of people who are excited about what God is doing in our midst.
Our congregation spans a range of ages and backgrounds. You’ll see people in the pews dressed in casual styles, including jeans. Bethany offers two styles of worship. At 8:15 we offer a traditional service with hymns; at 10:45 we sing praise songs with a five piece band. Each service lasts for one hour.
Near the beginning, the pastor will encourage you to greet the people sitting around you, but no one will single you out as a visitor. Also, we don't expect our visitors to give. So feel free to let the offering plate pass by when it comes down your row.
Children are welcome to attend worship services. On the first and third Sundays of the month, at the 10:45 service, the children are excused mid way through the service to attend Children’s Church.
We have reserved parking spaces for visitors. They are nearest the front main entrance. It is marked with a sign that reads “Visitor Parking.”
If you have questions about worship or Sunday classes, or anything else, ask the ushers who are stationed in the main lobby. They are wearing usher name tags.
Getting connected at Bethany is about
- life learning, “growing in the grace and knowledge of God”
- serving, for “the only thing that counts is faith working through love.”
